Founded in 1982, the Tongwei group entered the photovoltaic industry in 2006. TW SOLAR has positioned itself as one of the major players in the industry and is listed among the "Tier 1" module manufacturers by Bloomberg.

Historically, Tongwei Solar has been one of the leaders in polysilicon and photovoltaic cell production.

As a module manufacturer, it stands out by being one of the few manufacturers to fully control its entire supply chain internally (from polysilicon to the module).

Since polysilicon is the main cost driver of photovoltaic modules, this vertical integration gives it a significant competitive advantage in terms of price predictability for its modules.

The manufacturer has a production capacity of 75 GW for photovoltaic modules and over 95 GW for cells.

Tongwei expects the cumulative production capacity of high-purity crystalline silicon and solar cells to reach 800,000 to 1 million tons and 130 to 150 GW between 2024 and 2026.
