P3 Marseille Provence Airport Carport - Eiffage & Gagnepark

In Marignane, France, SYNAPSUN supplied 2,088 JA Solar photovoltaic modules for the solar carports installed on the new P3 car park at Marseille Provence Airport, delivered by Gagnepark with the Aba Workshop and Eiffage Énergie Systèmes et Infrastructures consortium. The R+4 facility features five levels and provides 3,400 parking spaces, with solar carports installed on its top level.

The solar installation consists of 1,584 JA Solar JAM54D40-455/LB modules rated at 455 W and 504 JA Solar JAM54D40-460/LB modules rated at 460 W, for a total installed capacity of 0.95 MWp. It complements the photovoltaic programme already deployed on the P4 car park, delivered in 2024, and the P3A car park, delivered in 2025.

Once the full solar carport programme is completed, the airport will generate nearly 4 GWh of solar electricity per year, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of approximately 1,000 households. The electricity generated will be fully self-consumed and will cover around 20% of the airport's electricity needs.

This project illustrates the transformation of parking facilities into genuine energy-producing infrastructures, making use of existing surfaces while generating renewable electricity locally.
