Project presentation
In Monteux, France, SYNAPSUN supplied 27,180 JA Solar photovoltaic modules for the solar carport programme deployed across the parking areas and pedestrian spaces of Parc Spirou Provence and Wave Island, developed by Terre et Lac, NEO Solar and their partners.
Commissioned in June 2026, the project has a total installed capacity of approximately 12.2 MWp and covers a total area of 8.2 hectares.
It is expected to generate nearly 17,727 MWh of renewable electricity per year, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of approximately 8,000 people, while avoiding around 558 tonnes of CO₂ emissions per year.
The project includes 45,000 m² of single and double solar carports for light vehicles at Parc Spirou, as well as a 180-metre-long and 7.20-metre-high pergola covering 7,600 m² and accommodating up to twelve coaches.
At Wave Island, the installations include a 90-metre-long pedestrian pergola and 26,000 m² of solar carports. Around 40 EV charging points are also distributed across the two sites. The project makes use of existing parking areas while improving visitor comfort and generating local renewable energy.
